The sales sheet for Guild Wars Complete Collection
I produced the full packaging design for Guild Wars Complete Collection, along with the packaging for the individual re-releases in June 2008.
The Complete Collection was designed as a premium product, an ideal gift for birthdays or holidays, or a collectible item for keen Guild Wars fans. To achieve this, I greatly simplified the brand, and focussed on the key elements of the Guild Wars franchise that have been identified with the game since its launch in 2005: the logo, the circular ‘alchemy’ motif, the serif type, and the singular female characters, and removing almost everything else.
Packaging for the Guild Wars franchise has usually been black or white, and I decided to keep the black background for the Complete Collection as it would better offset the silver foil I was planning on using for the game titles on the slipcase front. The individual SKUs would then have white backgrounds, differentiating them clearly from this release. The slipcase provided a rare opportunity to produce a jewel case inlay that would be free from all regulatory or retail information, so was kept super-simple and clean.
The disc, game activation card, backing sheet, sales sheet and quick reference guide were all designed to fit the style of the case.
